Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The property industry has been paying its respects to Queen Elizabeth II who died last week. A number of estate agents have joined with people across the UK and around the world in mourning her death.

On Thursday evening, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 96-year-old monarch had died at her residence in Balmoral, with heartfelt tributes quickly flooding in from here and around the world, including well-known figures from the UK property industry.

Guy Grainger, president of the British Property Federation, commented: “On behalf of the British property industry, we would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her long reign and send our condolences to the Royal Family at this incredibly sad time.”

Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, said: “It is incredibly sad to learn of the death of The Queen. During her 70 years on the throne she has seen an incredible amount of social, political and economic change, most recently receiving her fifteenth Prime Minister. ”

As well as serving as the head of her country, she was the head of her family and our thoughts are with them in her loss.”

Simon Clarke, levelling up, housing and communities secretary, commented: “Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was an extraordinary monarch. Throughout all that change our Queen was a constant source of leadership, dignity and grace. My particular thoughts are with the King Charles, as he assumes this extraordinary responsibility. God save the King.”

Paul Smith, CEO of Spicerhaart, remarked: “We join the nation, and indeed the world, in grieving our monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, who has served our country so graciously for 70 years.

“We are very lucky, as a country, to have had such an amazing, hard-working Queen who put her country before self and we can learn many lessons from her selfless behaviour and support of others throughout her whole life.”

Gary Hersham, founding director of Beauchamp Estates, said: “As the world mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, we at Beauchamp Estates remember Her Majesty’s remarkable life and reign.

“She will forever be remembered for her strong sense of duty and the selfless way in which she dedicated her life to her people and her throne.

“Queen Elizabeth II was the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch having served the United Kingdom and the Commonweath for 70 years and will be profoundly missed by us all. It is a moment of great solemnity and sadness.”

Lesley Roberts, president, UKAA, commented: “Few individuals have given so much for so many years in the name of public duty as HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty has been an inspiration to so many around the world throughout her 70 years of service. Her death is a true national loss.

“The Queen provided inspiration and guidance not only to the UK but to nations across the globe, uniting communities through the Commonwealth and encouraging cross-cultural understanding and engagement.

“Throughout everything, Her Majesty recognised the importance of service, of home, and of creating, maintaining and sustaining communities. The Queen has passed these values, along with a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and the importance of tackling climate change, down to the Royal Family. We are proud that such values will continue as part of Her Majesty’s legacy here in the UK and abroad.”
