Properganda PR, co-founded by the former boss of Emoov and regular Property Industry Eye columnist, Russell Quirk, will going forward operate under the name Proper PR.
Quirk co-founded the PR agency with James Lockett two and a half years ago following the collapse of the online estate agency.
He published a blog yesterday explaining the reason behind the name change.
He wrote: “Remember that new kid at school that was good looking and then turned out to be clever AND played sports better than everyone else? They ended up being admired and respected but also secretly gossiped about – and maybe their peers even wanted them to fail here and there.
“As you do better and better and grow to be more and more successful in life, you become a bigger target as the envy of others. And this is where Properganda finds itself not even three years into its existence.

“I’ll explain. When Russell and James launched Properganda there were no other PR agencies in the UK with the same name. They checked, obviously. However, it turns out there is a creative brand agency in Leeds named ‘Propaganda’ that, whilst it’s not a PR agency, does exist in the same marketing sector trademark category as us. Bugger!!
“So, now that we’ve come to their attention given our huge progress and growth of late and because they have the trademark advantage, we’ve graciously agreed to roll-over and to simply adapt our name to PROPER PR (and yes, we’ve trademarked it already).
“Obviously we are the same property focussed, obsessive, hard working, clever, creative, data-driven PR agency that we always were.
“But now we’re proper.
“Onwards…”

He should have spoken to a marketing firm before selecting his company name – there’s a really good one in Leeds i believe…

I’m just here for the comments……..
Get some poor press this lad…..Keep going!
Jon Bercow of the estate agency world.
HA HA HA… Poor Russell. Keep going mate
Fail to prepare
prepare to fail…
A true narcissist will do anything for attention. Anything at all.
Proper Charlies.
Poor old Quirkster, blustering in like a bull in the china shop.
His lack of attention to detail always gets him in the end.
In typical style spinning this story as competitor envy rather than a failure to do some basic research before charging at the gate when things started to go pear shaped at Emoov.
As it happens Propaganda are a very successful company in Leeds with an enviable blue chip client list .Their latest accounts testify with a total equity of £4.6m
To put some context to that Quirkster’s company in their latest account show a deficit of (£3,817)
His fateful Crowdcube pitch where he suckered in the punters blustering that the monies were needed to float a £100m company where in fact the monies were required to keep the lights on for a couple of months
PR but not as we know it.
