Pace of house price growth may have peaked, says Hometrack

The pace of house price growth in UK cities may have peaked – even though a number still have average house prices below 2007 levels.

Thirteen out of the 20 cities measured by Hometrack have registered a slower rate of growth in Q3 compared with Q2.

Nine out of the 20 have average house prices below the peak of eight years ago.

These include Belfast at 46% lower and Liverpool at 14% below.

By contrast, London house prices are 43% higher than 2007.
