‘On yer bike!’ Estate agents told it’s time to hit the saddle

Propertymark is encouraging agents and property professionals to support a fundraising initiative for the Propertymark Trust during Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May 2026).

The challenge began yesterday, with Propertymark staff taking part in a sponsored static bike ride over the course of the week. The aim is to collectively cycle 971 miles, representing the distance between the most northerly and most southerly Propertymark members.

By midweek, the team had recorded more than 160 miles, with activity continuing across the office as staff contribute in spare moments.

Four exercise bikes have been set up at Propertymark’s offices for the duration of the campaign, with colleagues taking part throughout the week to help reach the target and raise funds for the Propertymark Trust, which supports property professionals and their families during periods of hardship.

The initiative follows a personal account shared by Propertymark executive assistant Kate Bargery, who received support from the Trust following multiple cancer diagnoses and associated financial and personal challenges.

Her experience has been used to highlight the support the Trust provides to members of the property sector.

Nathan Emerson

Nathan Emerson, CEO of Propertymark, said: “Today marks the start of an important week for Propertymark and the wider sector. This challenge is about more than cycling miles; it’s about coming together as an industry to support colleagues and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

“The Propertymark Trust continues to provide a lifeline for many people across the profession, and we’re encouraging agents everywhere to get behind the campaign, follow our progress, and donate where possible to help us maximise the impact of this initiative.”

Throughout the week, Propertymark will post updates on its social media channels as the team works towards the 971-mile target. It is encouraging agents and other industry professionals to follow the campaign and support the fundraising effort.

The initiative comes as many in the profession continue to face economic and personal pressures.

Donations will go towards the Propertymark Trust, which provides financial and practical support to people working in the property sector.
