New AI receptionist product to help estate agents automate call handling

Estate and letting agencies are being offered a streamlined alternative to constant phone calls and administrative burdens following the launch of VoiceProp AI, a fully automated call-handling system that operates around the clock.

The new product, launched by ModelProp, functions as a virtual receptionist, answering calls, booking viewings, taking messages, and providing essential details about properties and services – all without human intervention. The system integrates with standard phone lines, ensuring swift and straightforward implementation.

“Estate and lettings agencies thrive on personal connections and effective client engagement,” said Mal McCallion, CEO of ModelProp.

“VoiceProp AI takes care of the repetitive, machine-like tasks—fielding routine calls and enquiries—so agents can invest more time in sales, negotiations, and nurturing relationships. The aim is to keep property a people-centric profession, whilst letting technology handle the busywork,” he added.

Is it time for estate agents to consider adopting a four-day week?

Call me old fashioned but this sounds awful. Agency is a service business and if an agency can’t be bothered to actually speak with potential clients then they don’t deserve any business.

It’s more like a replacement for ‘Press 1 for sales, 2 for lettings’; it allows a customer to speak naturally about what they’re looking for and can divert to the correct person or branch, or take (then email) a message, without you having to worry about it.

Property is and always will be a people game. But people spend far too much time on time-consuming admin instead of relationship building, lead gen, negotiating, selling, letting.

No one grows up wanting to be a message taker …
