Martin & Co expands with new acquisitions

Three branches of Martin & Co have completed major acquisitions.

Martin & Co Falmouth directors Jon and Felicia Sampson have completed their fifth acquisition in just 18 months and boosted their portfolio by 36% after completing a deal with The Mather Partnership.

Three staff from The Mather Partnership have also transferred to Martin & Co’s Falmouth office.

Jon Sampson commented: “This latest acquisition brings our managed portfolio to more than 800 properties. With the support of a very strong administration team, our property managers are allocated a number of properties each, providing landlords with a single point of contact and the continuity they would expect from a smaller office.”

Martin & Co Solihull, meanwhile, has taken a raft of properties from Hallway Letting Agent with one member of staff transferring as part of the deal.

Andy Powers, West Midlands director, said: “This is our fourth acquisition and our second biggest in terms of the number of properties.

“We completed inside four weeks, which was very pleasing and is testament to the hard work everyone put in.

“Our retention rate of landlords from previous acquisitions is very good and that continuity will continue for Hallway’s landlords through their member of staff we have taken on.”

Meanwhile, Martin & Co Rotherham has increased its portfolio by almost 60% after acquiring Beechfield Properties in the South Yorkshire town.

Chief executive of The Property Franchise Group, Gareth Samples, said: “Seeing our Rotherham, Solihull and Falmouth branches grow their businesses during these difficult times is extremely pleasing.

“There are opportunities out there despite the ongoing pandemic and we’ve set our sights on maximising those opportunities.

“We’re not letting up in our pursuit of meaningful acquisitions and not only do we have several others in the pipeline heading towards completion, we’re looking for more.

“So, I would urge any businesses looking to sell to get in touch, because we have the mechanisms in place to complete on these deals quickly and efficiently.”
