Taylor Wimpey has launched a £41.9m share buyback programme, with purchases beginning immediately and due to conclude by the end of December.

The housebuilder has appointed Merrill Lynch International to carry out the buyback, with the bank making trading decisions independently of the company in accordance with the agreed terms.

Taylor Wimpey said the programme, which excludes associated fees, expenses and stamp duty, is intended to reduce the company’s share capital. Any shares repurchased will be cancelled.

Purchases may be made on the London Stock Exchange under the authority granted by shareholders at the company’s AGM on 28 April 2026, which permits the repurchase of up to 333.8 million ordinary shares.

The programme will be conducted in line with the UK Market Abuse Regulation and the UK Listing Rules. Taylor Wimpey said it will issue further announcements as shares are repurchased.
