Living in lockdown but still helping others

Thomas Morris – headed by the irrepressible Simon Bradbury – in association with Agents Giving has set up the #ThomasMorrisTaskforce to help out local communities in these challenging times.

Biggleswade branch colleague Jen Newton and her partner, Luke Janes, are 3D printing much needed facemask clips for Addenbrookes Hospital, the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Services, and various care homes.

They have already managed to produce 150 and have order for another 250.

Ali Hull, who normally works at the firm’s Ramsey branch is busy crocheting hearts for those with Covid-19 and their families.

This follows a plea from a Nursing Sister, Laura Kirby-Deacon, who is at the Great Western Hopsital intensive care unit in Swindon.

The BBC ran the story a few days ago saying that the hearts could bring comfort to families who have not been able to see a loved one before they died.

Many other Thomas Morris colleagues are ‘doing their bit’.

Director Paul Saunders is going to the shops and then delivering items for a number of local elderly residents.

Joe Rattue from Ramsey is helping out at a local food bank.

Rosie Barnard from the property management team is volunteering at a local ‘Timebank’ where prescriptions are collected and delivered to vulnerable people. She has also signed up with The Red Cross.

Both Tom Mollett and Millie from Sawtry have volunteered for Sawtry’s Covid 19 Group, co-ordinated by ‘Caresco’.

Pete Hoare and Karen Keightley from St.Neots are running errands and collecting shopping for a number of neighbours.

Andrea Delaney ( St.Neots ) and Katy Poore ( St.Ives ) are arranging the collection of essential toiletries to be dropped off at hospitals and care homes for Key Workers.

Sharon Sculpher takes calls on a local helpline in Biggleswade for people who are anxious or lonely.

EYE says, ‘Well done!’ to all of them – and to the many estate agency workers all over the country who are playing their part in helping others get through the crisis.
