Industry urged to support London agents in charity cycle ride for orphans in Thailand

A London agent is looking to raise $10,000 to help support a  children’s charity, Hands Across the Water.

The charity began after the Boxing Day tsunami orphaned many children. Today, it supports 350 orphans across Thailand as part of a long-term commitment, and estate agency Victorstone’s managing director Fokrul Islam and head of sales Martin Press are the sole UK representatives for a fundraiser that will see participants cycle 500km in sweltering heat along the Mekong River.

Property professionals from Australia, where the charity is based, are also taking part. They include Steve Carrol who comes from Sheffield and who was former head of sales at Rightmove’s equivalent in Australia, Realestate.com.

Victorstone is half way toward its target and Islam is appealing for more support.

He said: “We are calling all our industry friends to take part in promoting the event and making a small contribution.

“Bearing in mind there are obvious risks of travelling to Thailand with the Coronavirus, but we will see through the commitment we have made.”
