eXp UK has continued to expand its network of self-employed estate agents, with the business reporting that more than 1,000 agents have now joined the platform and further growth planned this year.
The agency launched in the UK in late 2019 with an initial cohort of around 50 agents and has since grown by targeting agents seeking a self-employed model and greater control over their own business operations.
Last year, eXp UK expanded both its agent network and the services available to members. This included the introduction of its “Teams” proposition, designed to allow traditional branch-based agencies to move to a self-employed structure while retaining operational support.
The company has also increased its focus on buyer representation and agent support services as it broadens its operating model.
Having reached 600 agents during 2024 and passed the 800 mark in 2025, the business entered 2026 with around 900 agents operating across its network.
Analysis from TwentyEA estimates that there are currently around 2,000 self-employed estate agents operating across the UK market, meaning eXp UK accounts for around 50% of the nation’s self-employed agency sector.
Adam Day, head of eXp UK and Europe, commented: “When we launched eXp UK in 2019, we knew there was a huge opportunity to modernise the estate agency model and provide agents with something far more aligned to the way they wanted to work and build their businesses.
“To now surpass 1,000 agents exactly one year after becoming the UK’s leading estate agency brand is an incredibly proud moment and one that really highlights the pace at which the business continues to grow given that we now account for 50% market share of self-employed agents within the UK property market.
“What’s particularly exciting is that the rate of growth is accelerating rather than slowing down. That tells you everything you need to know about the appetite for change within the industry and the strength of the model we’ve built.
“Over the last year alone we’ve continued to expand not just in scale, but in the opportunities available to our agents, whether that’s through our brokerage model, commercial division, luxury offering, strategic partnerships or the wider support infrastructure surrounding the platform.
“The industry is evolving quickly and agents increasingly want greater flexibility, better economics and more ownership over their future. That’s exactly what eXp was built to provide and we believe the momentum we’re seeing today is only going to continue building from here.”

Yet a published list of the 1,000 does not exist…

Would the list not be on the Exp website. I would imagine there is a list of all of the agents in the UK on there? …..

This is in particular my point. The article says 1,000 and as of now the website says 893. I coded a scrape of the website and got 368. And a search by agent name, business name and or location brings up a different result. If eXp are going to make the claim then they should provide the data to support it.

Possible that more that one agent in a location or that multiple members are part of one team. Either way, I am sure that they would have the data to back it up.

You seem incredibly bothered in a negative way on this – is there a particular reason why? lost one of your decent negs to a better way of working?

I wasn’t even going to bother responding, but here we go.
Honesty in journalism is important. Reporting information in a qualified and quantitative way is important. EYE chose to today (02/02/2026) publish an explanation of this article. Why? I can speculate that maybe they hadn’t carried out any due diligence or verified the numbers. The fact that EYE “… approached a spokesperson for eXp…” after the article was published is interesting.
If you like your news unchecked, then Trump on Truth Social is for you! And if someone wants to be an online-only estate agent, then good for them!

“online only estate agent” ??
incredible people have this view, and yet eXp are the biggest agency in the country now – funny how views can be so polarized.

And you’ve just demonstrated my point because, in a Trump-like style, you’ve made the claim that “…eXp are the biggest agency in the country now…” without any reference to any sort of measurement! It’s genuinely, properly funny/embarrassing!
Let me put some numbers to the claim of “biggest” with some published information from the Connells Group:
– 16,000 staff
– 80 brands
– 1,200 branches
– £1.16bn revenue
– £73.1m profit before tax
Five simple metrics. All you have to do is provide the same for eXp UK. Really, really mind-numbingly simple.
It’s not polarising…it’s counting!!

As a humble agent, I’m sorry to disappoint you that I don’t have personal hands on figures, as I’m sure you’d expect.
Could you provide similar evidence to substantiate your “online only estate agent” comment – works both ways I’m sure you’ll agree.

Thank you!
You know I don’t need an excuse to reference the founder of Loop Software Limited and his alleged misuse of estate agency client data…
I actually got out of the pool to respond to this!!

Actually, I did expect you to have the figures, because I couldn’t see how you could otherwise claim that eXp is the country’s biggest estate agent without knowing the numbers!
Just to help, here’s some information from eXp World Holdings Inc Annual Report for 2025. In the UK, mean employer levels for the year were 27. Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and South Africa make up 3.1% of the group’s revenue. There are 20 countries in these four regions, meaning an average of £7.4m revenue per country.
The “online only estate agent” comment applies to how the majority (only needs to be 50.1%) of the eXp agents operate. Most work for themselves with no staff or commercial premises, operating in a designated area with an online-only presence. If you really need me to list some, I will!
There are some exceptions. I’ve already referenced Footprints Property Limited, but there’s also Mackey Property Agents Limited, Mark Buchanan Property Limited, Riva Lilly Estate Agent Limited, Billigham & Co Limited and a host of others that have commercial or high street premises and employees.
So…there we are then.

Better way of working is a big statement there…. Every exp agent in my area works more hours than I do, has less listings and sstc properties than I do, and even accounting for their greater share of their pie in terms of take home pay, the gap is so large they almost undoubtedly earn less than I do.
Good luck being available 24/7 or whatever other nonsense they all spout, I’ll go home at 5 to my family, and take my annual leave undisturbed.

Agreed and based on this point, there is a lack of clarity as to what defines an agent. I don’t share your optimism about the transparency around the true number.
For example. Footprints Property Limited is an eXp agent so does that count as one? Or because both directors are active, does that mean two? Or because their are five operating out of the premises, is that five? And if you search for “Footprints” on the eXp website nothing comes up anyway!
I’ve asked Adam Day for clarification but he continues to dodge the question…

The achievement of 1,000+ agents by eXp UK highlights the growing demand for innovative and customer-focused real estate models. Similar trends are shaping property markets worldwide, including Pune, where TSS Global’s Infinity Evana Punawale showcases modern living with thoughtfully planned homes and excellent connectivity. As the industry evolves, quality developments and a strong customer experience continue to drive success.

Each to their own I suppose. As long as each agent is happy with what they are doing then it’s all good as far as I can tell
