From secretary to lettings director – and still there after 30 years

Congratulations are in order for a number of agents.

First up is Jane Wilkinson, who has celebrated 30 years at Leaders.

The company’s lettings director for Sussex, she started at Leaders in 1986 as secretary to founder Neville Lee. At the time, the firm had a single office in Brighton and boasted a workforce of just five people.

Tremendous expansion has followed over the subsequent three decades and Leaders now operates almost 120 branches across the UK and employs more than 1,000 people.

She said: “Leaders started as a small family business with strong values, and despite our size now, we have managed to retain the same ethos.”

After starting as a secretary, Jane soon became involved in all aspects of the business and was promoted to roles including property manager, negotiator, branch manager and area manager before becoming lettings director.

She believes the same opportunities to progress exist today.

Congratulations also go to Paul Wilson, who has been made a director at Yorkshire firm Dacre Son & Hartley.

Boutaina Canswick has been promoted to central London regional lettings director at Hamptons International.

Keith Miles has been recognised for his outstanding performance at Andrews Property Group, and received the Directors’ Award at the recent company bash. Other recipients of awards included Jeff Bathija, area manager of the year.

Finally, Connells Residential has promoted three of its lettings area managers to area directors.

Mark Alvis, Karen Trace and Graham Weldon take up their new roles with immediate effect, becoming the first three lettings area directors in the group.
