The owner of Parkers’ Chinnor branch has doubled his managed portfolio after acquiring a long-standing independent letting agent.
Jayson Wicks has completed a deal for Andrew Murray & Co’s portfolio in nearby Thame – his first acquisition after six years at the helm of the sales and lettings agency office.
Murray, who has been a staple of the Thame market for more than 25 years, is retiring but will continue working with Wicks as a consultant, while his former landlords are transitioned into Parkers.
Wicks, who took over the Chinnor branch from his uncle Mark Griggs in 2016, said: “It’s a really interesting portfolio and much of it is quite high-end, with five and six-bedroom detached properties in Thame and surrounding villages.
“Adding those kinds of properties to our existing portfolio was really attractive to us and it creates a fantastic mix.”
Parkers MD, Rob Smith, added: “This is a fantastic first acquisition for Jayson and the team in Chinnor and I know it’s whetted his appetite for more in the future.
“Parkers Chinnor has been in his family for more than 30 years, with his uncle Mark building the business for 25 years before Jayson took the reins in 2016.
“They have an incredible reputation for excellence and long may their success continue.”
