EYE NEWSFLASH: Former Spicerhaart MD joins Boomin

Paul Vickerstaff, until now a managing director at Spicerhaart, and a former U.K National Sales Director for Purplebricks, has joined emerging portal Boomin.

His Linkedin profile this morning shows a post saying:

“So, here we go….. new role, new business, new challenges, new people …. With a few familiar faces too!

Today I start my journey with BOOMIN, I’m excited to be supporting and working with this amazing business and I look forward to sharing more news and updates over the coming weeks.

As for now, time to get day one underway..”

Vickerstaff announced on LinkedIn last week that he was leaving Spicerhaart:

“All change!

After a brilliant time with Spicerhaart, it’s time for a new challenge. Today marks my last day with the business, I’ve enjoyed helping bring new vision, new ideas and I’m grateful for the opportunities that we’ve worked on together.

There are so many brilliant people to thank, you know who you are! But, I’d like to thank personally Antony Lark, John Phillips and Paul Smith for making my time so enjoyable.

I wish the business every success, I have no doubts about how you will grow, good luck everyone, don’t be strangers.”

Vickerstaff was sales director at Burchell Edwards – one of the Bruce Brothers’ acquistions in the 1990s.

Seem to recall Paul Smith’s new year predictions suggesting high profile departures at Connells!?!    Oh, the irony!!!   Maybe worth him spending more time looking inwardley (sic) rather than focussing on competitors?

Why are you so hung up about the senior team at SH …. bore off its so boring. Mr P or is it Mr L – whoever you are concentrate on running the C word.

Thanks Claire.   Definitely no ‘hang up’.   Perfectly reasonable to remind readers that your leader Mr Smith predicted high profile leavers at Connells and yet the high profile leaver is actually from his own organisation.  Somewhat ironic would you not agree?

    Slow news-day

Newsflash  -someone leaves to rejoin his PB mates who have just agreed more funding -always going to happen IMO

I know this gentleman  and I wish  him well-I actually  think he is suited to this role and will do well at it -it seems a personal choice and I can  see why he made it bearing in mind his history

Don’t know much about Connells you Monkey but I imagine getting CWD Connellised  will result in some casualties -all part of the acquisition   process and business reality -Hamptons an interesting piece of work culturally Id have to imagine

Good  luck to Paul Vickerstaff and everyone in the property game -see how 2022 plays out -Im excited

Tend to agree with the above. People often focus on jobs that suit their qualities better – most estate agents have higher than acceptable turnover. I’m sure this is the case in your business Monkey. From reading the article it looks to have been mutual between both parties.
