An estate agent has lost both his legs in a horrific hit-and-run accident.
Branch manager Shaun Whiter, 27, was helping a friend change a tyre when the hit-and-run driver ploughed into them.
Shaun has worked for independent agent David Lee, in Stansted, Essex, for 11 years, starting as a teenager delivering leaflets before joining as a junior negotiator.
The accident was last Friday and since then, Shaun has sent out positive messages via social media, using the hashtag ‘warrior’.
Three-branch David Lee, named after founders David Kirby and Lee O’Brien, has won awards in both the Negotiator and Estate Agency of the Year schemes.
The firm sponsors a local Fun Run and Walk, and Shaun himself has helped the firm raise considerable amounts for charity.
A sporty man, he has taken part in a Half Ironman contest, and a cycle ride to Paris. He is also a keen amateur footballer.
Estate agency partner David Kirby told the local paper: “He is doing bloody well. He is so positive and in such a good frame of mind, being a real trooper – a real warrior.
“He’s a footballer, a cyclist, a charity cyclist, a golfer, a triathlete, a skier, a runner and a swimmer. He’s good fun, very charismatic, caring, and very professional with a mature attitude.”
Our best wishes and thoughts are with Shaun, his family, friends and colleagues.
