
Dexters has this morning announced its acquisition of James Alexander, in Norbury, and the opening of two new offices over the coming weeks, in Surbiton and Canada Water.
This expansion marks a major step forward in strengthening Dexters’ presence across South London, with over 80 Dexters offices across the capital, including 12 in prime central London, giving the business a well-established presence across the city.
Highly respected estate agency James Alexander was established in 1994 in Norbury.
Dexters is wants to increase its local presence in Surbiton, which is why it is now opening its third office in the town to strengthen their existing sales, lettings and new homes operation.
Dexters also continues to open offices in new locations across the capital and the latest office is about to open on Surrey Quays Road in Canada Water.

Is London different to other towns?
If you didn’t go to school or play rugby with someone , you don’t get instructions in market towns.
London seems to reward marketing alot more. Or is it the same?

Speaking to London agents recently I was told that vendors often contact at least three, if not five or more before instructing one, so the simple answer to your question is ‘yes’. But why? Because London is the most impersonal marketplace in the UK, with people relying far more on the web – and Google reviews – than personal contact/recommendation, simply because they don’t ‘mix’ with their local communities nearly as much. This makes looking exceptional on Google a very high priority for London agents – just look at any Dexters or Winkworth office. There’s a recent article on the HelpHound blog entitled ‘4.9 is the new 4.5’ and that highlights this issue – you might be able to survive in Exeter by doing business with fellow Chiefs supporters, but that won’t carry much weight in London!
