Emoov hires former takeaway business boss as chief financial officer

Hybrid estate agent Emoov has recruited a former boss of a takeaway firm as its new chief financial officer.

Frank McGlade was previously head of corporate development at Just Eat, having joined in 2012, and helped oversee the firm’s initial public offering (IPO) in April 2014, which raised £360m.

Prior to that, he was a director in Deutsche Bank’s Equity Capital Markets team and was responsible for originating and executing IPOs and equity capital raisings, largely within the UK.

He is the second senior appointment to have joined Emoov from Just Eat, along with chief marketing officer Lucy Milne.

EYE asked Emoov if an IPO was on the cards, given McGlade’s experience. A spokesman said: “Nothing is on or off the table.”

McGlade said: “I spent six great years at Just Eat and I’m now looking forward to the next challenge at Emoov, and it’s great to have a few familiar faces already in place here.

“There are a number of similarities between the two companies, with both providing a disruptive option to a traditional sector that benefits the consumer.

“While Emoov has already grown dramatically in eight short years, I’m confident that our best years of growth potential are still ahead of us to become the household name for UK home sellers and, as we continue with our estate agency revolution, it won’t be long until this potential is realised.”

Emoov founder and CEO Russell Quirk said: “We’ve continued to build out an A-grade team of people so that we are not only differentiated from others in the sector by our unique hybrid offering and best in class, customer first proposition, but also by our senior team who are now ready to further our plans to take yet more market share from the traditional sector.”

    O God, not another IPO!

Guess it beats having to crowd fund again?

A larger share of the market for a loss making business is just a bigger loss making business?

I’d like to place an order, please.

    Barbecue spare ribs…

    Chips…

    Fried rice…

Sweet & sour prawns (Hong Kong Style, of course…)

    Portion of mushrooms…

…and of course I’ll need a five-bed mansionette in a leafy suburb to eat it in!

It’s not a case of ‘You couldn’t make it up’.

    You just wouldn’t.
