Cooper and Tanner has purchased Jill Meadows Lettings Ltd in Wells for an undisclosed fee.

The company plans to open a dedicated Cooper and Tanner Lettings branch in the City, with the new office off Sadler Street headed up by Jean Moakes.

This new office will be an addition to their residential sales presence in Wells.

The Jill Meadows agency has built up a well-respected reputation as an independent firm in the local area. Meadows, who founded the company, will remain as a consultant during the handover period.

Meadows and Moakes plan to work closely to ensure a smooth transition for the firm’s existing clients of buy-to-let landlords.

A spokesperson said: “Cooper and Tanner continue to be a firm that does not rest on its laurels. The drive has always been to push forward into new territories, whilst at the same time building on their existing reputation.

“The lettings department has grown exponentially over the past five years, and the new Wells lettings team looks forward to working with the locations existing clients and tenants and welcoming more as we move forward.”
