Propertynest strengthens senior team to support franchise development

Propertynest has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Paul Sheard as national training and business development manager, to support the development of the sales and lettings franchise opportunity being offered by the estate agency.

Sheard has over 40 years’ experience and is well-known in the industry. He has worked with a number of brands including Countrywide and EweMove.

Sheard said: “The Propertynest franchise enables agents to set up their own sales and/or lettings business initially from home. The team have honed processes, created, integrated and deployed the most efficient lead generation and back-office tech and now with the right training and support, we can offer a genuine, tried and tested franchise opportunity.

“My role will be to support new agents joining to ensure they are in the best possible position to grow their own agency rapidly.”

The managing director and founder of Propertynest, Vincent Anthony, added: “Rising costs and higher inflation are already affecting the market.  It may well become tough out there, but we know how to weather this storm because we’ve been here before. Efficient business models with low overheads and those that can offer both sales and lettings will prevail.

“Paul’s extensive experience in both buoyant and challenging market conditions means he is well placed to help steer the ship, supporting new franchisees as we invite more people to share in Propertynest’s successful model which has stood the test of time.”

James Gwynne joins Nicol & Co

James Gwynne

James Gwynne has joined Nicol & Co in Worcestershire where he will manage the letting team.

He has more than 10 years working in the sector, including the last three years managing the sales and lettings teams at Cobb Amos in Herefordshire.

Before that, he spent four years working his way up the ranks at Andrews Estate Agents in Cheltenham, and he previously worked for the former Town & Country Property Services.

Gwynne, 30, will be working from Nicol & Co’s Droitwich headquarters and will manage a letting team of four based there and in the company’s Worcester and Malvern offices.

Gwynne commented: “I’ve got a bit of a history with Nicol & Co as they have always been around and I was trained by a former staff member when I was first working in the property sector.

“I then met the team a few years ago when applying for a job as a sales negotiator, and while I was impressed I was told that my experience meant I would be better to apply again when they had a more senior and lettings related position.

“This left an imprint on my mind as a company I’d like to work for, and so when this opportunity came up I applied and am thrilled to have been appointed.

“Nicol & Co understands the market and I like their ethos and how the company markets itself as a brand, wanting to be memorable for the right reasons.

“It worked with me and my mission is to ensure that this is also the case for our landlords and their tenants.”

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, said: “There is a range of new legislation and regulations coming through on the relationship between landlords and tenants, and James’ detailed knowledge of these changes will keep up one step ahead of the market.

“His appointment also reflects our ongoing confidence in the property market despite recent economic turbulence.”
