Comings and Goings

New director at Jonas Robinson

Matthew Bates has joined Jones Robinson as sales and lettings director.

Matthew Bates

Bates, previously an ex-branch manager at independent letting agent Jon Hallett Ltd in Redaing, joined Davis Tate as lettings manager in 2006.

During the course of the next six years at Davis Tate, Bates became responsible for overseeing the lettings arm of the business, and the sales department several years later, culminating in a lettings director role in 2012. He became managing director in 2017 until May 2021 when he left the firm.

Bates has now joined Jones Robinson, based in Newbury, where he says he wants to focus on “the ongoing development of staff”.

He commented: “It’s imperative that we keep Jones Robinson at the forefront of our market, with continual innovation, to the benefit of both our staff and customers. I have loved helping people move on with their lives in my 28-year career and still get a buzz when someone finds their next home!”

Sarah Cox joins Jacobs Steel

Sussex estate and lettings agent Jacobs Steel has appointed Sarah Cox as marketing manager.

Sarah Cox

While Cox is a newcomer to the property industry, she brings a wealth of marketing experience.

She trained as a journalist, working for various Sussex newspapers, before moving into PR and communications.

Cox said: “I was looking for a new challenge and this ticks all the boxes. I’ve not worked for a small business before so it’s lovely to really feel part of a team, and know who everyone is.

“I’ve been so impressed by Jacobs Steel. The company has a really strong brand which I am hoping to build upon. The company directors Matt Jacobs and Pat Barton have a clear vision of where they want the company to get to, so it’s my job to help make that happen.”

Tim Noble

Brickflow, the comparison site for development finance, has appointed Tim Noble as lending director and Chris Meyer as key account director.

Brickflow says that the appointments enable Brickflow to increase the number of lenders plugged into its platform and extend its support to professionals working within the property development sector.

During his career, Noble held senior positions with Paragon Bank, Bank Leumi, Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander and Close Property Finance.

He said: “My years as a development finance lender means I can advise developers on their loan requirements, help with online applications and manage applications so they secure the most suitable funding for their projects.”

Chris Meyer

Meyer has 28 years’ experience in providing funding support services to practices, firms and brokers in the professions and insurance sector.

During his career, Meyer held senior sales roles with an Alternative Investment Market-listed provider of funding solutions, a French high-end fashion finance business and Premium Credit Limited.

He commented: “I’ll ensure professionals with clients who have difficulties accessing funding are signposted to this unique solution – where tech and expert knowledge come together to offer a top draw selection of lenders and support from industry experts.”
