Catfest raises record amount for charity despite the rain clouds

Despite a rainy day, estate agency trainer Julian O’Dell and his wife Cat put on another highly successful musical festival in aid of charities.

Two were the beneficiaries this year – Action Against Cancer and Dan’s Hope.

Altogether a record £45,242 was raised by this year’s Catfest.

O’Dell said there were several times during the day when he felt an emotional wreck, with the weather doing its best to ruin everything.

The event, held in the O’Dells’ garden at their home near Milton Keynes, was supported by a number of industry organisations including Rightmove, Reapit, Moneypenny and Property PR Experts.

The O’Dells had been thinking of not repeating Catfest next year – but were so inspired by the smiles, the support and the huge amount of money raised, that they have named Saturday, July 13, as the date to put in your diary for 2019.

Catfest has its roots in wanting to raise money for cancer research, as Cat has been living with cancer for some years.

Congratulations for organising and hosting another MARVELLOUSly successful event, Mr & Mrs O’D…

…and ultimate respect for what you are doing for others in what has been an extremely worrying and stressful time in your own lives.

Far from sure if I’d have the inner strength or resilience to do the same if I was wearing the moccasins.

    My hat is doffed accordingly.
