It is often said that almost all property hunters start their search on the internet.
But one home searcher who relied purely on portals, agents’ websites and their alerts, rather than registering with an estate agent, found he was missing out on properties coming to the market.
This particular property searcher was – and is – an estate agent.
The reason he didn’t register as an applicant with agents was understandable – he reckoned that most agents don’t like other agents on their applicants’ list.
However, in the end, he had to thank a “great” estate agent for finding him his next house.
That was, says Matthew Ryde, associate partner at south-based Howard Cundey, nearly six years ago.
However, his blog on the subject is very current.
Do buyers over-rely on the internet? Is it still the case that agents’ best leads are the applicants that go to them direct?
It is an interesting message, perhaps, to give out to your own slice of the public.
Re-title, please:
"AGENTS far too reliant on portals."
JUST as accurate…
