Brace yourselves for 4pm today – your date with the portals

What will you be doing at 4pm this afternoon?

Sitting back and having a cup of tea in anticipation of the weekend?

Or deftly uploading more properties to Rightmove?

According to the portal, 4pm on a Friday afternoon is the busiest time for new sales properties to be added – but the quietest for traffic, which is at its busiest at 9pm (yes pm, not am) on Tuesdays.

The busiest time for rental properties to be added instantly is 5pm on Wednesdays.

Rightmove this morning said that one-quarter of all properties are now being added via the new instant upload service, Real-time Data Feed.

The site also said that searching on mobile devices has increased by almost 50% in the last year. Half of all property views are now done on smartphones and tablets.

Matthew James, head of communications at Rightmove, said: “We now send one million property alerts out to home-hunters every day, and the majority now choose to receive them instantly.”

Blimey, Rightmove are really scraping the barrel with this pointless release!!!
Perhaps all the staff at are only working on press releases for the rest of this year which is probably why it takes so long to get through to someone when I experience problems on the new admin sections of RM +
