ARLA Propertymark and NAEA Propertymark unveil new presidential teams

ARLA Propertymark and NAEA Propertymark have announced their new presidential team for the year ahead.

Following the appointments of Angela Davey and Kirsty Finney earlier in the year, the remaining presidential team positions have now been filled.

Liana Loporto has been appointed president elect for NAEA Propertymark and Stephen McCarron will become vice president for NAEA Propertymark.

Meanwhile, David Votta has been named vice president for ARLA Propertymark, working alongside Maxine Fothergill, president elect.

Liana Loporto and Stephen McCarron will join Kirsty Finney, president of NAEA Propertymark.

Loporto has more than 22 years of property experience, having worked both in large corporate and boutique agencies. She started her career in Malta, before relocating to London and working as sales and operational director at an independent agency in North West London.

Recently, she set up her own company, Liana Loporto Property, and is a huge believer in Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) and the importance of qualifications, something she plans to champion in her new role.

McCarron, who has been at the forefront of the property market in Northern Ireland for 30 years, began his career at Nationwide Estate Agents, working his way up to eventually open his own agency, Donnybrook Estate Agents, in 1997.

Throughout his career McCarron has continually updated his knowledge base through education and is also a keen advocate of RoPA, hoping to support this and advance the aims of Propertymark and its members as vice president for NAEA Propertymark.

David Votta will work alongside Angela Davey, president of ARLA Propertymark, and president elect, Maxine Fothergill.

Votta started his career in 2009 as a trainee lettings negotiator for Wards, in Kent, before moving onto Spicerhaart as a senior lettings branch manager and then setting up his own agency in 2018.

He has been a regional representative for ARLA Propertymark for over four years, engaging with Propertymark’s lobbying work, contributing to requests for input on consultation responses and taking part in a rogue landlord database roundtable event with MHCLG on behalf of ARLA Propertymark.

With RoPA on the horizon, he is keen to encourage the younger generation to consider a career in the estate and letting agency business.

Tim Balcon, CEO, Propertymark: “It’s fantastic to welcome Liana, Stephen and David to the NAEA Propertymark and ARLA Propertymark Presidential team. These agents are all experienced property experts working in different markets across the UK, their input on behalf of members is crucial in directing Propertymark’s focus. I look forward to working with them to ensure that we understand members needs and address the issues they face.”
