Agency ‘thrilled’ after award success raised in Scottish parliament

A Greenock-based estate agency has been congratulated in the Scottish parliament for winning the Gold Award for sales in the Best Estate Agent Guide 2023.

Stuart McMillan MSP raised the motion in Holyrood, saying the honour reflected the hard work of the team and its high level of customer service.

McMillan said: “Neill Clerk is an excellent and long-standing business and the award is very well-deserved.

“I want people to realise there are plenty of good things going on in Inverclyde. It’s about changing the perception of the area and making people aware of the successes.

“There are many excellent businesses in Inverclyde and many excellent initiatives locally. I’m very proud to represent Inverclyde and I’m very proud of the area.”

Derek Reid, manager and valuer at the agency – which has been on Greenock’s West Blackhall Street since 1989 – said the team were “excited and delighted” at the mention in Holyrood.

“We’re thrilled to get that recognition and we really appreciate Mr McMillan speaking about us,” he said. “We want to say a big thank you to him for helping raise awareness of our success.”
