Agency boards firm Kremer Signs is set to grow by a third this year by ploughing an investment of nearly £2m into its business.
It has already invested £1.5m in new premises to accommodate its ongoing expansion.
The site in Hambridge Lane, Newbury, houses Kremer’s head office and digital print centre and is 45% bigger than its previous home at nearby Greenham Business Park.
The move has involved a total £1.45m investment, including buying and refurbishing the building, a new design studio and warehousing, as well as the creation of five new jobs.
Co-founder and joint managing director Steve Gosney, pictured, said: “We needed the room to expand the business. We were also renting our previous premises and we wanted to become owners.
“It is the digital printing arm of the business that is leading our expansion. It is a quicker and more cost-effective way of printing signs that also allows us to be a lot more creative with our designs.
“The extra space means we will be able to install a fourth digital production line early this year, which will mean a further £400,000 investment and will create another five new jobs.”
The investment has been backed by Lloyds Bank, whom Gosney described as having been “exceptionally helpful”.
Turnover is expected to grow from £4m last year to £6m.
Kremer Signs, which was founded in 1985, designs, prints, manufactures and installs advertising boards for estate agents right across the country.
It also supplies retail fascia signs, window displays, pavement signs, window banners and more, using its digital printing facilities.
And there was me thinking that technology was the only way forward in property marketing! I don’t know how many will agree but in my view boards are THE most important marketing tool for both the property and the agent. No tech breakthrough will ever change that.

But a few councils are having a go at stifling that!
