An agent has bought two local competitors – a high street business and an online business – more than doubling its size.
Hammondlee in Norwich has bought local independent Stratford, which has two offices.
It has also acquired online agent House Revolution.
The company was launched in Norwich in 2007, one of the early adopters of internet-based estate agency.
Glen Hammond said: “This acquisition give us with ideal opportunity to expand into this important new, growing sector and offer our customers more choice.
“Uniquely, House Revolution will be an online agency with a high street presence.
“However, House Revolution will be a separate company, offering a totally different sales proposition, and will complement our traditional agency services.”
“Uniquely, House Revolution will be an online agency with a high street presence.”
Shouldn’t this read..
“And like nearly every other estate agent in the high street , House Revolution will have an online presence”?

“It has also acquired online agent House Revolution.”
Well… with a current bulging register of TEN properties – last instruction as recent as mid DECEMBER – no doubt the acquisition fees ran into three or four million at least.
Such is the way of these things, it seems.

And the reason for the on-line ……. to dabble in that anti-estate agent arena? Through the backdoor private house sales, if I can’t get the business as an estate agent. He probably has become the villain with the other agents in his town.
