Agents stretched as admin demands spill into evenings and weekends

Nearly half of letting agents are still doing admin after hours, with new research suggesting the workload is spilling well beyond the working day.

The survey found 46% of property managers and letting agents regularly handle paperwork in the evenings, while a further 25% say they work on admin at weekends.

On average, agents lose around eight hours a week to tasks that could already be automated – the equivalent of 384 hours a year, or roughly 10 working weeks.

The findings come from the UK Admin Drain Report 2026, based on a small survey of 167 UK small business owners, including a limited number working in property.

Across respondents, the most time-consuming tasks include chasing invoices, handling client and tenant communications, producing reports, scheduling appointments, and preparing quotes — all areas where automation tools are already available.

The research was carried out by HeyBRB, which focuses on automation for small businesses.
