Picture of the Week: Is this the kind of rent rise we can see after the ban on fees?

Here’s our contender for Picture of the Week.

Until yesterday, we would have blamed a fat finger, but now it could be interpreted as living proof of how rents will rise in response to tenants no longer having to pay fees to lettting agents.

Indeed, this is surely an expensive place to rent – even by Oxford’s standards.

Described as a spacious student property, it costs an eye-watering £262,325 per month, or £60,537 a week.

Still, at least the tenants can draw huge comfort that they won’t have to pay the agents, Elwood & Co, fees in future.

There’s always some good news to be found somewhere.
