Zoopla launches new comparable report tool

Zoopla has launched a new comparable report tool, enabling members to build own-branded vendor-facing reports in a few easy clicks.

The new report provides a fully personalised valuation and comparable guide to help agents win more business from prospective vendors and landlords.

Combining live listing data, historic listings and sold property data across sales and lettings, the report is freely available through ZooplaPro.

Jon Notley, commercial director of Zoopla Property Group, said: “We have overhauled our tools to develop an all new comparable report format, having worked closely in partnership with a number of our members.

“The result is a product that is specifically designed to help our members win instructions.”

I have quite strong opinions about products like this being made to Agent's competition simply because the data had once been entrusted to Portals by the instructed agent.
A significant part of any Agent’s armoury when winning instructions ought to be it's own dead files. Opening those reports up to Hapless, John and Co is a big bunk up for weak, less capable, less successful and less established Agents at the expense of the other Agents in the area.
I really am surprised there hasn't been more comment about what to me is an obvious threat to an Agent's intellectual property.
I’m not reliant on selling property to earn my living but if I were I would be checking my terms and conditions very carefully to see if the release of my data to my competitors in such a way is permitted. If this has been slipped through I would ensure it was taken out when my renewal is due.
I wonder how many agents read or ask their solicitors to read thoroughly through contract terms with their service suppliers.
Before someone says all this data has been in the public domain, I appreciate it has but it is down to competitors to record the data and not have it handed to them on a plate from a structured and complete database.
