Zoopla Property Group has claimed that over 500 agent branches have returned to it from OnTheMarket.
ZPG also said 53m visits were made to all its websites in September, up 13% year on year.
It said it provided over 2m leads to agents, up almost 18% year on year, with app downloads in excess of 8.3m.
A spokesperson for the company, which also owns uSwitch and property IT businesses, clarified to EYE that 48m of the site visits were related to the property websites.
Mark Goddard, managing director of ZPG Property Services, said: “We are delighted to report continued strong growth in our audience and the value we deliver to our partners.
“Vendors and landlords are increasingly using our websites to identify and select local agents, and our appraisal lead tool is helping our partners win more business and it is not surprising that over 500 branches have now returned to us since the start of last year.”
Yesterday, challenger property portal OTM said it had achieved a record 10m visits in September, measured by Google Analytics.
If Zoopla fulfil their commitment to permanently ban firms caught portaljuggling (in support of NTSEAT and TPO) I think there’s is either going to be one big dent or about 300 smaller dents in that number.
Despite NTSEAT and TPO making it very clear portaljuggling breaches both CPR and BPR one firm is continuing to defy the code of conduct. I suspect to force a legal case if they have redress removed.

Agree with Robert above that Zoopla and Rightmove need to be tougher and sacrifice for them what would be pennies to make sure only bonafide agents are on board. That being said I think 300 of the 500 being jugglers is a bit of a reach. If the redress schemes could be a bit stronger then maybe the portals would have to act?
I am not saying the 300:500 are portaljugglers Simon, one firm with a claimed 300 ‘branches’ hasn’t stopped juggling their listings on either Rightmove or Zoopla. It isn’t that all 300 ‘branches’ are gaming their listings it just seems a determined few are so stupid that they’re belligerently carrying on, its almost as if they didn’t get, didn’t read or didn’t understand the memo. Portaljuggling is illegal and breaches TPO code of conduct.

Or AM tell us which 500 have gone back…….. as I was told there has always been a net increase in membership on the whole, so help me stay motivated AM and tell me the numbers aren’t going in the wrong direction.

Unless and until the 500 are made known publicly by either Z or OTM I shall maintain a healthy scepticism as to the veracity of the claim.

QUESTION TO ZOOPLA PROPERTY GROUP
You state that in excess of 500 branches have returned to Zoopla from OnTheMarket.
Please advise the readership – many of whom will be your paying clients – what is the average nett monthly revenue per branch for these 500 or so returning “partners” compared to the average figure for pre-existing business?
