What does 2024 have in store for agents?

A webinar being hosted next week by Goodlord will explore how agents can best navigate 2024 amidst ongoing rental market fluctuations, the implementation of the Renters (Reform) Bill, and an impending general election.

During the session, which starts at 10am on Monday 15 January, Rik Smith, director of tenancy services at Goodlord, will be joined by Rob Owens, head of research at E.surv, and Ryan Heaven, associate solicitor at Dutton Gregory. The panel will discuss how agents can prepare for likely market movements, deal with the issues arising from the cost of living crisis, and the impact of upcoming legislation.

The Renters (Reform) Bill, after hundreds of suggested amendments, has now returned back to the report stage in parliament before a Third Reading, leaving many agents unsure of how to best prepare their landlords for the changes. With the Bill likely to become law this year, the panel will give attendees clear guidance on what they can be looking out for and when.

With an ongoing property supply crunch and a general election on the horizon, the panel will also unpack how agents can harness the benefits of an uncertain market to win landlords and unlock as much growth as possible over the coming year.

Smith commented: “2024 promises to be an extremely busy year for letting agents, in an economic, political, and legislative sense, so it’s crucial they stay well informed to stand out among competitors and make it a successful one.

“The webinar will provide a great opportunity for agencies to get ahead and find out everything they need to know about this year might hold, including the opportunities they should be seizing.

“We hope the webinar provides attendees with some clear guidance and food for thought on how they can best capitalise on what’s coming down the track in order to drive growth and unlock new opportunities going forwards.”
