Zoopla says it delivered a record number of vendor leads to its agents last month.

It said that its appraisal tool, which allows home owners to contact local agents to arrange a valuation of their home, delivered almost 5,000 appraisal referrals in October.

This, says Zoopla, equated to around £18m of fees potential.

Over the past 12 months, Zoopla says it has referred over 40,000 home seller leads to its members for valuations, which equates to over £150m of potential fees.

Jon Notley, commercial director of Zoopla Property Group, said: “These figures show our ongoing commitment to helping our members win new business and the exceptional value we provide.

“The average ZPG member generates a significant return on investment that is multiple times the cost of advertising with us from our appraisal leads alone and with over 50,000 home sellers expected to use our appraisal tool to select their agent over the next 12 months, ZPG members have a significant advantage when it comes to winning new business instructions.”

* Zoopla founder Alex Chesterman has been named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the CITY AM Awards 2014.

Chesterman was up for the award against other entrepreneurs including Rowan Gormley of Naked Wines, Lance Uggla of Markit, Julie Deane of Cambridge Satchel Co and Nick Hungerford of Nutmeg.

Chesterman said of his latest award: “I am honoured to have been nominated and delighted to have won this award amongst such highly respected contenders.

“Whilst I may get much of the credit, there are many others behind the scenes who have made our business what it is today and I accept this and other awards as a welcome reward for the hard work and dedication of our whole team.”
