Well-established franchise holder makes maiden acquisition

The owners of Martin & Co’s New Milton office have marked their 14th year in business with a maiden acquisition.

Mike Ellis and Becky Troisi have grown their managed portfolio by 66% following their acquisition of properties from New Forest independent agent BrightWater.

Ellis and Troisi and Becky took over the branch in 2008 when it was still based in the New Forest town of Lymington and quickly relocated to neighbouring New Milton.

Since then, they have become well-established in the area, with a major portfolio of managed properties in New Milton and New Forest villages like Brockenhurst, Sway, and Barton-on-Sea.

Troisi said: “BrightWater approached us as they are based in Ringwood, but part of their portfolio was in our area.

“They know us and how we work, so they know the properties we’ve acquired are in safe hands.

“We’ve not quite doubled in size, but it is a sizeable number of properties, so we’ve also recruited a new member of the team to help with the management of our new-look portfolio.

“It was a no-brainer to look to progress with BrightWater as we’re always looking to expand and we knew them, so it was a straightforward process.

“We’d love to expand further with more portfolio acquisitions if the market allows it.”

Martin & Co MD, Eric Walker, added: “I am delighted for Becky and Mike with what is an excellent acquisition in a very competitive town.

“BrightWater is a perfect fit for Martin & Co and this deal is another in a long line of acquisitions completed this year.

“It was particularly gratifying as I used to live and work in the New Forest, and specifically in New Milton!

“I am sure our new landlords will welcome Becky and Mike’s professional service at a time where the regulatory landscape is changing so quickly.”
