Tributes paid to estate agent who was third generation of his family to own firm

Tributes have been paid to Philip Beresford Adams, who was the third generation of his family to own and run well-known estate agency Beresford Adams.

A devout Christian, he has died at the age of 94.

He was the only child of Chester estate agent Henry, while the family business was set up by his grandfather Beresford Adams in 1889.

He served with the RAF during the war, but was given compassionate discharge after his father’s crippling illness and his mother’s death.

At the funeral, the Rev Clarke described his life as one of “integrity, honesty and sincerity”.

Beresford Adams is still going strong, now as part of Countrywide, with 18 branches in Cheshire and North Wales.
