Could this be an idea for letting agents – or perhaps you have already done something similar?
A landlord on Property Tribes explains: “As the Brexit crisis unfolds around us I am engaged in a one-woman campaign to play my small part in helping to restore communication and reduce uncertainty.
“To this end, in the past week I’ve reached out to all of my tenants who are from the EU, checked with them that they are okay and affirmed with them that I value them as tenants.
“As landlords we can ALL do our bit to help the current crisis by reaching out to our valued tenants who happen to be EU citizens and tell them that we value them.
“My tenants have responded with gratitude to this simple gesture.
“I would like to urge all PT members to reach out to your EU tenants and also share this post to other landlord communities.
“It is such a simple thing we can all do to spread goodwill and reassure the EU tenant community.
“Although the media would mostly have you believe otherwise, the PRS can be a very caring and supportive place. Let us unite and show we care.”
Obviously, no one can give tenants from the EU certainty, as all negotiations still lie in the future.
However, a bit of entente cordiale now must surely be a positive, regardless of which way you voted.
