Sky’s the limit! Agent plans parachute jump to raise money for children’s A&E unit

We already know estate agents are a charitable bunch who will go to great lengths for their clients and to raise money for good causes.

It appears that stretches as far as jumping out of an aeroplane at 13,000ft.

Tracy Kosmalski, director of estate agent Putterills, which has offices in Hertfordshire, will undertake a parachute jump to help raise £8,000 to buy a sensory floor at the children’s A&E at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

She said: “I want to raise as much money as I can to help buy an interactive floor for the children’s ward and waiting area at Lister Hospital.

“Anyone who has unfortunately needed to attend children’s A&E will know that fractious and bored children make stressed parents.

“The hospital representatives have explained that a sensory floor will keep children entertained and help with the waiting times.

“The environment for the children is unfamiliar and I have witnessed first-hand how frightening it can be for them.

“The hospital needs help to raise the money for these children and I want to try and help them do it.

“I intend to do a tandem parachute jump at 13,000ft, much to my family’s horror, and don’t tell my 92-year-old mum!”

Meanwhile, the SDL Property Group has announced it will aim to raise more than £100,000 this year for its partner charity, The Donna Louise, which provides palliative care services and support to children, young people, and their families.

One of the activities will see participants take part in the SDL Tour: The Three Peaks in April. This will see teams travel through England, Wales and Scotland via car, completing 5 trails, including a mountain climb, in order to win points and be crowned overall winner.

The £100,000 target was unveiled at the SDL Property Group conference, held at the Football Association’s St George’s Park grounds in Staffordshire last month.

A number of SDL Group’s business partners committed to support the work of the children’s charity through a variety of business pledges, including rounding up invoices, donating 1p for every £100 of income earned, and making a contribution for every new customer gained during the year ahead, which will raise £51,588.
