The ‘easy’ brand has now launched into conveyancing. It appears to have no links beyond the name with easyProperty.
The platform allows buyers and sellers to compare conveyancing quotes from over 200 firms, instruct a conveyance and then track the progress of their transaction.
There is also access to a helpdesk.
easyConveyance is run by founder Connor McCann, who also operates a lettings business, Omarentals, in Omagh, Northern Ireland.
McCann said: “The home buying process in the UK is outdated and problematic, with over 25% of house sales collapsing each year.”
Easy founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who licenses the brand to a number of businesses including easyProperty, said: “It’s time for the home buying process to be brought into the 21st century.
“Easyconveyance will provide the latest technology and innovation required to deliver a more transparent and accelerated solution to the current slow and clumsy system in the UK.”
Ummm … far be it for me to bring a dose of reality to this exciting new development, but what are Easy actually bringing to the party here?
You are presented with the same choice of lawyers as the HomeOwnersAlliance website as they use the SAME ULS panel to recommend “selected lawyers”.
This is simply an orange wrapper around the same technology.
I know EasyProperty didn’t exactly blow the doors off the agency world, and I’m a a little sceptical to see if they are going do the same with this “me-too” approach to the charming world of conveyancing panels
Mind you, I’ve have spotted a small benefit.
EasyConveyance only charge consumers £225 on a fee of £716 for using their website whereas the HomeBuyersAlliance charge them £245.
Which is a bit of a bargain.

Yet another conveyancing affiliate website from ULS. Surprised they have not given themselves a .gov.uk domain this time.

Peter this is genius…of course no one has thought of this before oops forgot about GoCompare uSwitch Moneysupermarket in utilities and finance/insurance and Getanagent Netanagent in estate agency…oh dear Stelios. Nil points for modernising the world of conveyancing as it doesn’t sort out the CML, solicitors, conveyancers, Law Society, Housing Minister, Sajid Javid, Land Registry, the insurers to name but a few.

There is a reason why so many decent conveyancing firms do not use price comparison sites.
I consider them to say to the public ‘we don’t care about your circumstances just pay our charge and take a ticket’. A one-size-fits all, attitude, trading on being cheaper than the others – a race to the bottom of customer service and legal skill.
My advice to family and friends, let alone clients and the public…don’t visit them and never select a conveyancer via them.
Instead demand as a minimum from any conveyancer:
1. CQS accredited
2. Lexcel accredited
3. The actual conveyancer has a law degree or at least 10 years conveyancing experience
4. Their website has every naed conveyancer on it with their contact details – email and direct telephone
5. Their website does NOT have a quote generator
6. The conveyancer is freely chosen by you not oboigated wihtin an estate agent contract
