Rightmove revamps its hub to make it easier for agents to access training

Rightmove has revamped its training resource for agents.

The Rightmove Hub now has over 18,000 participants who have access to expert training along with ways to order marketing materials and submit new designs for their products.

The online training through videos and live webinars has been offered as part of an agent’s membership since 2015 and includes experts helping with topics from business growth to new legislation.

Miles Shipside, Rightmove’s commercial director, said: “Many individuals and agents strive for extra knowledge, and while the Rightmove Hub has been very popular, we have now carried out a revamp to make it easier for individuals and companies to structure appropriate self-learning.

“Hopefully the new-look Rightmove Hub will assist more agents in getting their teams involved in regular online training sessions, as well as helping businesses differentiate through good practice.

“The hub has some great content already, and has just got even better thanks to the latest webinar release by the highly regarded Josh Phegan.”

As well as being simple to use, the new version gives agents the chance to create watch lists for new joiners in their branch and a personalised home page that recommends the most relevant training for an agent depending on their role.

The most popular training videos currently available include those around the tenant fee ban with ARLA’s David Cox, and the psychology of persuasion with industry trainer Richard Rawlings.

Agents can sign up to the hub at https://hub.rightmove.co.uk/

Miles? Are you listening to Agents?

    NO!

You’re just talking to us without listening!

Call me Miles and I’ll talk you through Agents concerns about Rightmove, and you can then tell me what you are going to do about our concerns.

…….absolutely nothing Miles – You/Rightmove are simply a talking wall!

Rightmove, you’re a website mate get over yourself.

Don’t use any of this guff from them, let them shout into an empty room. If you think you or your team need training or inspiration seek it out and pay for it, do not let this shower masquerade as anything other than what they are, a long list of property generated by the graft of others.

    Tw@ts.

Had a look at some of the training videos and to be honest if you have been an estate agent more than 5 minutes they are worthless. Very basic.

Whatever add-ons Rightmove offer, whether they are “free” or not the return will never justify the initial cost. Zoopla and On The Market generate far more worthwhile leads, at a fraction of the monthly outlay.

Having left 18 months ago and having heard nothing from them since I recently had an email out of the blue offering 50% off for six months and then £1400 per month for the Essential Package. As I have found out, rightmove is no longer essential for my business so I passed. The going rate for a monthly portal cost is no more than £500. Point being they are starting to offer ‘deals’, just hopeless ones.

Hi, can you share a link to this email so that we can use it against them on pricing and also they have stated that they only have fixed pricing

They have always offer a 6 month half price deal, if you hand in notice they offer a free month in addition to the months notice to let you have a think about leaving, pretty pointless really when hundreds of agents are leaving, many have handed notice in now to leave end September and many more are leaving on RMEXIT 31st October. OTM gaining momentum offering more leads and better quality.

……and as the lights in the venue spark into life, radiating a soft glow within the auditorium one is drawn to the bustling stage, full of estate agents waiting to offer their advice/knowledge/opinion ……to the seated audience …..of just 1.

A tap of the microphone, and then the words “A warm welcome to Mr Miles Shipside” …….Miles tapping away on his phone, reluctantly looks up and awkwardly acknowledges the announcer.

The announcer continues “So, Miles, we thought it would be productive for you to hear from the Agents who pay monthly for Rightmove’s services, you can listen to their experience/relationship with Rightmove and then respond, then we can move on from there……”

Suddenly Miles seems to slide awkwardly from his seat, slipping out of view ……several attendants rush towards where Miles is seated …..then the doors at the rear of the auditorium seem to move slightly …….and someone catches a glimpse of Miles crawling on the carpet through the slight gap in the doors….

The announcer comments “Well….. Thank You Mr Miles Shipside, for your contribution, to today’s event…..”

    Rightmove? – “Wrongmove”

Miles Shipside? – “Miles away from reality!”

Several agents in our area have recently dropped RM and stuck with either or both of Zoopla and OTM.

IMO the portals are just reaching a tipping point where if Zoopla and OTM don’t drop the ball in the next 12 months, either the cost of RM needs to reduce dramatically (won’t happen) or the trickle of agents leaving RM will become a flood as confidence that the world doesn’t end without RM becomes stronger.

We were told at our RM review that there are 3 tiers of service and everyone will pay the same rate per tier whether a loyal customer or a new entrant. I asked why then do I need to be a customer for 12 months when I can quit and then return pick for my most effective 6 months ? the RM agent couldn’t answer that.

RM is a luxury that fewer agents can afford and a growing number don’t want anyway.

Bit pointless when most agents are leaving RM on 31st October. RMEXIT.
