National Business Development Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To train, manage and motivate a team of field based Business Development Managers (BDMs), including:
mentoring and assisting the BDM team to achieve their individual recruitment targets for new member offices and penetration of key services.
ensuring each of the BDM team regularly visits their member offices to an agreed frequency.
encouraging a culture of team working and mutual support.
carrying out effective induction with new BDMs and ensuring continuous professional development across the team.
monitoring performance across the team and dealing with performance issues as and when they arise.
carrying out regular one to one and appraisal meetings with each BDM, ensuring any training and development needs are identified, and talent is managed and retained.
leading the recruitment of new BDMs when and as required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The ideal candidate must be self motivated, ambitious and persistent with a drive to succeed. The role demands the ability to generate respect and trust from both staff and external customers and to be able to be a strong team player and be able to take initiative where necessary.
Other essential skills include:
Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
Good organisational skills, with high attention to detail
Strong analytical abilities
Advanced problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
Full UK driving licence
