As part of their continued growth and expansion, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join them and work with their Development team to deliver amazing projects.

The position will suit an enthusiastic and flexible individual who is willing to make the commitment necessary to help them deliver their portfolio of opportunities.

As a Quantity Surveyor your main responsibilities will be to carry out all aspects of Quantity Surveying including pre and post contract cost control, from inception to final account settlement, and preparation of tender and contract documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates and plans.
  • Prepare financial statements at regular intervals during the construction period.
  • Prepare and execute formal contracts.
  • Prepare specification documents for tendering and evaluate tenders and tender reports.
  • Manage interim work progress, and measure and price variations to monitor change.
  • Ensure pre-qualification requirements are undertaken accordingly.
  • Preparation of cost to complete.
  • Assess applications for payments, identify duplications and process invoices.
  • Source and procure best value items and negotiate best prices and most favourable.
  • Assess and monitor the supply chain to ensure best value is being provided.
  • Manage client, sub-contractor and direct labour relationships through regular interaction.
  • Settle final project accounts.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience of NEC contracts.
  • Understanding of lean principles and methodologies to continually improve standards, minimise waste and cost, and maximise value, whilst maintaining the needs of the homeowners and the business.
  • Sub-Contract procurement and management experience.
