The Company

Our client is one of the UKs leading residential property auction companies, with an enviable reputation in the industry.

Providing a white label auction service to their clients, they have grown to become a market leader across the UK, working in partnership with some of the biggest and best names in the business.

The Role

Due to a focused expansion programme, they are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to cover Scotland.

This exciting and fast paced role is home based, but will also include frequent visits to the Newcastle office.
Based within striking distance of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, this role involves:

  • To build and successfully manage a network of estate agents across Scotland who utilise the companys auction services as a core service within their own businesses.
  • Developing a business plan, defining key goals and sales targets.
  • Ensure that the quality of service your clients receive is exceptional at all times.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key staff members within your client network.
  • Conduct regular training sessions with new and existing partner estate agents.
  • Conduct regular site visits to all partner estate agents.
  • Working closely with your partner estate agents to secure properties for auction.
  • Keeping a close eye on the market, noticing any changes and recognising opportunities.
  • Expanding and developing the agent network in your assigned region.
  • Liaising with the in-house account managers to ensure sales volumes are maximised.
  • Attending and representing the company at the regular live auctions.
  • Pro-actively dealing with new client enquiries, working towards securing new business.
  • Being part of an enthusiastic and driven team, working towards common goals.

The Person

You will ideally have an estate agency or similar background and have previous experience of selling into or working closely with estate agents.

You will be a true professional with a passion for the industry, along with a real drive and determination to succeed, you must:

  • Have knowledge of the estate agency marketplace and ideally property auctions, although this is not essential.
  • Be a self starter, able to set your own diary on a daily basis.
  • Have a proven sales background, ideally in a role where you have generated your own leads.
  • Possess strong negotiation and sales skills.
  • Be of a persuasive nature and have high level of commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Confident and able to work alone, as well as be part of a team.
  • Able to work to sales targets and hit KPIs.
  • A willingness to go the extra mile.

The Reward

  • £25,000pa to £30,000pa depending on experience
  • Uncapped £50,000pa OTE
