Rapid Sale advert guaranteeing cash within seven days is banned

In a busy week for the advertising watchdog, the ASA has banned an advert by a firm called Rapid Sale.

Its website claimed: “Stop Repossession/Eviction – Cash in Bank in 7 Days Guaranteed.”

However, a firm called KwikChex challenged whether this was misleading and could be substantiated.

Rapid Sale provided the ASA with a statement from its solicitor, confirming that, subject to obtaining redemption statements and settlement figures, it was able to complete transactions within seven days of agreement with the client and had done so even sooner on some occasions.

However, the ASA upheld the complaint on the grounds that consumers would understand the claim of “cash in bank in seven days, guaranteed”, that they would always receive the money for their property in seven days.
