Tinie Tempah is investing in Strike, the hybrid agency, formerly Housesimple.

The well-known British rapper and television presenter, who has demonstrated his interest in property with his TV show Extraordinary Extensions, is partnering with Strike as part of wider efforts to raise his profile in the property industry.

Tempah, whose real name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, is working with Strike to launch and judge a reimbursement fund that will give sellers who have previously paid out fees with other estate agents a chance to claim some of their cash back.

The musician and property entrepreneur said: “The idea of selling property without the need for an “estate agent” is music to my ears. I’ve been investing in property for over 10 years and I love how Strike is innovating the estate agency game, by helping to put you back in charge of how you sell [or buy] your house.

“I’ve always questioned why we have to pay so much to the estate agent when that money could be spent on improving our home instead – especially as renovation is my passion when it comes to property.”

The ‘free the fees’ fund is open for online submissions to anyone in the UK, who must submit their dream, unique house improvement idea, and Tempah will choose the most creative to receive the full average UK estate agent fee.

He added: “I’m excited to hear what else people would’ve spent their Estate Agent fees on – like a crazy display space for the ultimate trainer collection or a unique statue of a giraffe (like me), I love seeing what levels of creativity people have when it comes to their homes. If I could’ve saved the estate agent fees for the houses I’ve sold, by now I would’ve created a full-on spa with a steam room and sauna for my home.”

Consumers have until 31 March to submit a claim to Strike’s fund. For more information, click here.

Bet he has more than a Tinie Tempah when he loses his money in this.

Wait until he finds out about the archaic conveyancing process in property. Possible Prince style rebrand to ‘Hot Tempah’ ?

“The idea of selling property without the need for an “estate agent” is music to my ears –

“The idea of watching bands perform live without the need to pay the “musician” is music to mine”

Let’s rip him off with the bootleg copies and download from the web – then watch itsy bitsy cry about his skill and art being dissolved, and how he is worthy of his fees to play Glasto – but to be fair ALEX (fanboy) singing Thiago Silva was better than Tiny T.. LOL

I’m fed up of people complaining about estate agency fees when they have no idea how much work goes into the process – especially sales progression where all the problems arise. The UK house sellers should be grateful they don’t live in another country where fees can be as high as 5-7%! They should realise how lucky they are that agents here are so “cheap”!

Poor Patrick. Sucked in to the hype. He’d do better just carrying on building his property portfolio and keeping clear.
