Property management franchise scheme recruits seven businesses in first six months

Six months since the launch of the industry’s first block management franchise scheme, SDL Property Partners has announced it has now signed up seven franchisees.

The scheme is designed to enable agents to broaden their businesses.

SDL has also announced the appointment of a new business development manager, Duncan Foster.

Foster has worked in the property management business for 30 years, mainly at block management firm Alan Foster Associates.

Foster was senior partner of the business for ten years, selling it in 2014.

Foster said of his new role: “Over the years I have learnt that property management is a balancing act between knowing the technical aspects of property and being a people person.

“With compliance becoming more of a priority within the industry, it makes it increasingly difficult for property managers to go-it-alone. I know this was true for me.

“Had this franchise model existed five years ago, would I have sold my business? Perhaps not.”

Franchisees are offered support and training, which recently included a workshop day in London.
