Our brand new ‘how not to do it’ feature: Future contributions invited

Oh dear. This really isn’t good.

Especially not if Peter Knight was doing a bit of last minute mystery shopping for his estate agency awards later this year.

Spotted yesterday on his Twitter account is this worthy successor to Computer Says No, proving that there’s a lot to be said for induction:

“Just called an EA with two offices in the same town. Me: “Hello, can you tell me if you do sales and lettings from both of your offices or is one for sales and the other for lettings?”

“Reply: I don’t know, I’m only in Admin, can you send an email.”

Not saying this didnt happen, but i find it unlikely that in a normal high street office, all staff wouldnt know the answer to that question. If this phone call really took place then Peter probably called some sort of sales progression office.

    Or…..its fake news!

I bet its true and I bet it was a millennial who answered the phone! You know the sort, an attention span of a gnat hitting a dislike button and who can only live by the advice given by Twitter and Google and Siri…computer says no! The business owner should also hang their head in shame!

Peter knight wasting yet more time of estate agents

No intention to buy or let just conducting research that no doubt the business owner does not want to partake in.

Maybe the agent sensed it was a waste if time or sales call so did not want to give Peter the information.

I picked up the phone earlier today and the chap asked to speak to me, I sensed it was a sales call. I said the person he wanted to speak to (me) was busy the little sod said to interrupt me (did not know he was actually talking to me) as he would know what it was regarding (I did not) As agents we are subjected to these idiots calling us daily and we weasel out the time wasters like Peter.

In fact why do we not all bombard Peter with calls texts and emails asking him stupid questions.

If he gives the answers we like we can charge him a couple of grand for a certificate for being a good little boy.

Maybe it was a telephone answering service that picked up rather than a employee??
