LinkedIn has named online agent Yopa as one of 2017’s top start-up companies to work for in the UK.
The full list of companies, produced in conjunction with CB Insights, also features short-term rentals business Airbnb.
Daniel Attia, co-founder and CEO of Yopa, said: “This recognition from LinkedIn is a fantastic testament to our world-class team across the country, both in the field and behind the scenes.
“Our people are driving the business forward and are key to Yopa’s success.
“Following an exceptional year of growth, with three public companies backing our vision, this accolade from LinkedIn is the icing on the cake for us.”
In June last year, Yopa raised £16m in a funding round led by Savills.
A further £27m was raised this year in a new funding round, with the Daily Mail General Trust and LSL Property Services joining Grosvenor Hill Ventures, the investment arm of Savills.
To be eligible for LinkedIn’s 2017 list, companies had to be less than ten years old, have at least 100 employees, remain independent and privately held, and to have had at least one round of venture-backed funding.

…is this “accolade” something that is voted for by the employees?
If so isn’t it a bit like my mate Glenn – the original crook-waver for the Agency built around an even-toed ungulate – whose constant bleat was that they were rated a five star franchise… just didn’t mention the ever-so-significant factoid that the ‘rating’ was bestowed upon them by their own franchisees!

The unusual name thing is a product of the infatuation with getting hold of the .com web address. Any firm under 10 years old has a real problem finding a .com that isn’t already taken
A classic example was the internet listing firm who were late to the party and found their ideal .com was already gone so had to go with a URL and company name that confuses them with an internet based cattle haulage firm.
Just an observation (and unmissable opportunity to get first blow in the annual Xmas put down)…..that firm didn’t make the happy place to work list so the conclusion is it’s either proper miserable working for a bloke who bangs on about himself all day long or there’s an upper limit to the number of venture funding rounds
