Online agent adds local information service to its site

Online estate agent SellMyHome has done a deal with a provider of local information – which charges up to £39.99 for some of its insights.

Property Detective provides some information free, for example about local schools.

But information about crime rates, local nuisances, amenities, transport and things to do is not free and can be purchased for £30 for one property, or for £39.99 for a three-month subscription giving access to unlimited properties.

Will Clark, managing director of SellMyHome, said: “Online agencies offer convenience and reduced costs but are often criticised for their lack of community knowledge.

“Partnering with Property Detective provides a hybrid service that combines reduced costs and an in-depth knowledge of the neighbourhood.

“Their product perfectly complements our business and supports our ongoing mission to become the go-to online estate agent.”

Clark, a former Knight Frank agent, co-founded SellMyHome in 2013. It charges £550 upfront, or £200 upfront plus £1,250 on sale.
