‘On yer e-bike!’ – Taylor Gibbs wheels out a solution to congestion and pollution

Taylor Gibbs, an Independent North London Estate Agency have made the bold move to ditch their cars in favour of the electric bike to conduct their viewings.

The decision was spurred on by wanting to adapt to a more environmentally friendly mode of transport and staff decided to look beyond electric cars and choose to cycle as their primary mode of transport.

The number of electric cars being used in Highgate has increased significantly over the past 12 months and by using electric bikes the firm says it will contribute towards trying to reverse climate change. London roads are heavily congested, and cycling will reduce the time spent travelling between appointments, freeing up valuable time that can be used in a more productive manner.

Taylor Gibbs says it has always been conscious of its carbon footprint and has already taken steps to change, by sending digital property particulars to prospective buyers and tenants and using electronic-signing software in a drive to limit the amount of paper they use.

Director, Zia Taylor says:

‘We are all keen to be more eco-friendly and the move to use electric bikes to carry out our viewings was welcomed by all the staff at Taylor Gibbs.

“E-Bikes won’t entirely replace car trips, but it is safe to say they will reduce costs and the time staff take to commute to appointments; it is good business sense as well coupled with green benefits.

“Reducing pollution and traffic congestion along with the health benefits are a few of the many advantages of making this change.”

They do realise that bike is stolen every 16 minutes in London? I mean its a great cost saving until you have to buy a new bike once a month.

Not to mention somewhat sweaty agents during viewings, or indeed having an agent rock up in a high-vis jacket with ruffled hair… seems a little un-professional to me.

But credit to them for doing what they can to reduce their carbon footprint!
