An agent says that it has been caught out by Facebook ‘ghost reviews’ which have hit its normal five-star rating.
AngelwoodsAgent, in Cwmbran, Wales, yesterday evening tweeted: “You may have noticed that our Facebook reviews have taken somewhat of a nosedive over the last day or so.”
It said: “ Due to matters our of our control, our Facebook reviews have been severely compromised over the last 24 hours. Our usual perfect five-star rating has been temporarily diminished by ‘ghost reviews’ cause by a bug according to Facebook Advertiser Support.”
The firm thanks its customers who have given it the five-star rating and asks its new and potential future customers to ignore its “uncharacteristically low rating” and to read its reviews – not simply its star rating.
The message ends by saying that Facebook has said that the issue will be resolved shortly.
Last night, a Facebook review reduced its rating to 1.4, apparently based on the opinions of 303 people.
The firm has five-star reviews on allAgents.

Oh, dear – Facebook did a f***-up.
why dont they just remove the reviews section on their facebook page until its sorted? surely this would be better than drawing peoples attention to it?
If they do that they lose all their reviews. It’s a major problem with Facebook reviews – a business can accumulate dozens of great reviews and then along comes a shocker and the business is faced with two options: live with it or disable the reviews function and lose all their reviews.
If I were Angelwoods I would be far more concerned that I scored only 2.8 on Google.
Why not go on trustpilot and get your reviewers to review you 3 seconds after putting the house on the market. The asa or naea won’t mind.
