Marsh & Parsons, overall winner of Estate Agency of the Year 2016, is opening a new office in Brixton, echoing the trend for central London agents to move into outlying, and cheaper, boroughs.
The office, which will be fully operational from Monday next week, brings the Marsh & Parsons network to 28.
The branch will be offering sellers a 0% deal until April 7, and will be up against Foxtons whose Brixton office has come under repeated attack for local ‘gentrification’.
David Brown, chief executive at LSL-owned Marsh & Parsons, said: “We’ve been a key player in London’s property market since 1856 and are delighted to further strengthen our reputation and presence by opening in Brixton.
“Our 0% sales commission campaign is designed to offer property owners a taster of the exceptional customer service and results we’re able to deliver in the hope they’ll tell their friends all about us. Historically, it has been a great way to introduce ourselves to a new neighbourhood.”
Also opening a new office in London is Fraser & Co, but this time – against trend – it is opening in central London.
Its new City office is the company’s fifth in the capital.
The firm offers sales, lettings and property management, but also has specific expertise in selling new-build schemes to buyers at home and abroad. It also has offices in Hong Kong and Dubai, and in the UK represents over 12 developers and 34 developments.
Marsh and Parson’s are Foxtons wannabe in London and are their almost identical twin (but not as successful). Not sure if they read the memo from their parent company LSL, but not a good idea to open up another office at the moment. I predict it’s (Brixton) closure by the end of the year.

Not as successful… did you not read the opening line of this article? Overall winner of Estate Agency of the Year 2016… seems pretty successful to me. Brixton office closed by the end of the year? Care to put a wager on that? Not a chance!
